In 2016 we installed a 850Kw Biomass Burner which is fuelled by sustainable, locally sourced wood chip.
The Biomass Burner has helped reduce our heating costs on the whole farm.
We have been able to stop using three oil-fired boilers and we use the hot water in the milking parlour, the ice cream dairy, salt production and the Barn & Kitchen.
It also ensures our Fun Barn is kept toasty warm all through the winter.
Our Biomass Burner is quite large, but has fancy touchscreen controls!
The Burner is fed with sustainable, locally sourced wood chip.
